Music to my Ears

Jordan got a new supplier, and we got a gorgeous new coral!  A Symphillia Brain Coral!  Sounds just like 'symphony', hence the silly title...The new supplier Jordan is using seems to have a good handle on coral supply.  All the new stuff is really nice, and we could have easily broken the bank this trip.  But, with a little restraint, we got out with just the coral and a few scarlet hermit crabs.

So Todd posted about the beautiful new brain coral we got, but it sadly had to go back to the store today.  I came home this morning to find my Coral Beauty munching on the flesh of the Symphilia.  That is bad for many reasons.  First of all (but of the least concern), I had to returm it, which sucks because it was amazing in the tank.  Most importantly, it sucks because the coral might not live, which I feel really bad about, especially because it was a VERY nice looking tri-coloured one. Also bad is the fact that now my Coral Beauty has had a taste for coral, so it is likely that she is no longer reef safe.  She is also a particularly beautiful Coral Beauty, so I hate to have to possibly bring her back too if she starts to eat other corals in the tank.  This is the second fish that has turned non reef safe on us.  Could be bad luck, not sure what else would cause this.  Sorry for not posting any photos, but I just wanted to get it out of harm's way as fast as possible, and did not snap any pictures of what it looked like.  Hoping to hear back on Thursday about whether or not the Symphilia lives, to find out if we can get our money back for it.  Cross your fingers!

We sadly made the decision to bring the Coral Beauty Angelfish back to the LFS yesterday. It was her or the corals, so we chose the corals. The symphilia is not doing great at the store. It seems to be getting a bit worse, and Jordan said that it will either start to get better soon, or it will die. That sucks, because that would mean we are out 100$, not to mension the fact that we brought the fish back too, and if they can't sell her, they will not give us any money back for her either. A causionary tail about angelfish. This breed is supposed to be among the most reef safe angels, but even this one did not turn out for us. I do not think we would get another angelfish, as even the best reef safe ones are only reef safe with caution. I would rather not have this happen again. Not sure what fish we will be getting to replace her, but we will keep the site posted.
